We are incredibly lucky to have so many talented and educated skincare professionals throughout the country and world who embody the Monastery ethos while being true to themselves. Our latest installment in the Stockist Series is an esthetician we admire for her holistic approach to skincare. With two locations in Topanga Canyon, CA and Kauai, Hawaii we step into the world of Honest Rituals. Founder and owner, Elizabeth, started Honest Rituals four years ago with the intention of nourishing the community with holistic beauty rituals. Her dreamy spas make for the perfect backdrop to receive a bespoke Monastery treatment.
Q: What drew you to Monastery?
A: Every Monastery product I’ve fallen in love with. My current obsession is the Attar balm. It’s heaven in a bottle. The smell, the texture, the hydration and the way it makes the skin glisten will make you fall in love with this product. I like to layer it over my serums as my fishing product.
Q: What compelled you to work in the skincare industry?
A: What compelled me to work in the skincare world was an absolute fascination with the skin. I wanted to learn what truly created healthy glowy skin. And what really peaked my interest was learning and diving into skincare ingredients and how the quality of the ingredients makes all the difference.
Q: What can clients expect when they come to your space?
A: I’m not your traditional esthetician. I treat the skin from a natural and holistic approach. Empathizing on less is more. I focus on healing the skin through 3 pillars. The first being nutrition. The second is topical skincare. And the third is emotional well being. I have weaved this ethos into my boutique spa Honest Rituals. I have two spa locations. One in the beautiful Topanga Canyon California and the other on the lush island of Kauai, Hawaii. We specialize and are known for our sought after Sculptural + Buccal Facial.
Q: What was an 'aha' moment in skincare for you?
A: My ‘aha’ moment was when I discovered facial massage. Once I learned this technique everything fell into place. I dedicated the next 7 years to hone in on my technique. It’s been truly life changing, not only for me but for my clients. The Sculptural + Buccal facial is so much more than a facial. It’s an emotional experience and you leave feeling so much lighter — both physically and energetically.
